Essential Oil Meditations
One of the cherished memories of childhood – hunting for Easter Eggs…
My girls still remember these days fondly and made us stop on the way to the ski hill yesterday to get eggs for a hunt.
Remember the crisp spring air. The joy of finding them (and for parents – finding the best places to hide them). The race to find as many as you can and see who has the keenest eyes to find them…
The hunt could go on forever… but then… so does the chocolate.
Here’s an Easter Yoga idea to switch it up a bit, prolong the hunt, the fun, and cut out a bit of that chocolate overload.
Add a yoga twist into your egg hunt by printing out yoga poses on tiny slips of paper then placing these in colourful plastic eggs. If your kids are hooked on chocolate it might be along with a chocolate egg or if you think you can get away with it, have some eggs with chocolate, some with yoga poses.
Make a game out of it by having the kids open the eggs mid-hunt and stop and do the pose before they find more.
Competition too fierce? Have them explore their yoga poses while sorting out their eggs afterward. At least you get them moving and stretching while munching…
My girls would re-enact the hunt for the rest of the weekend so you may even get more mileage than you planned out of those healthy moves you slipped in as they re-hide the eggs around the living room. Which may actually turn out better than re-hiding the chocolate… we lost a chocolate egg one year in Grandpa’s white couch and it didn’t get found till July….
My Easter gift to you to make this super easy?

Most of these should be self-explanatory for what the poses look like… except perhaps for the Platypus… you are on your own to make up a pose for that one… who knew they hatched from eggs?

Don’t put away the eggs after easter. This game is fun all year long when you add different pictures and themes inside the eggs. One of my students favourite classes is all about birds and this game works perfectly to start off the class and introduce the birds and have each person share the bird that hatched from their egg.
